Design Day

So as far as designing something goes.  It’s kinda hard for me to just up and say HEY DESIGN A [fill in the blank]!  So I decided to try to start designing something that I actually might need in the future.  My website.

I looked up domain names and traciemae.com was still available.  So was tracieroberson.com but that’s just blah.  My granddaddy used to call me Tracie Mae.  Mae is not now, nor has it ever been my middle name, but that was what he called me.  I thought it was cute.  I’m going with it, don’t crap on my parade here. 

 I started sketching out how I’d want to write my new “logo.”  Here’s a little bit of that -

 

Then I thought about the actual page – what would it look like? 

I love my diary and even though I haven’t written in it in a couple months, I still think it’s beautiful.

 So I thought, what if my website looked like a diary or a notebook of some sort.  I just like the look of the diary with the ribbon down the side and the embroidery.
